Here are the "official" photos we had taken while at Disneyland and we really got some good ones.

Our first full day at Disneyland was Drew's 5th Birthday. The park opened at 8am and we were there. We started with buying each kid an autograph book and pen, and rented a stroller to carry our stuff mostly and occasionally a kid. Jungle Cruise was the first ride, which was good as it closed the next day as Disneyland gears up for their 50th Anniversary. Splash Mountain and Space Mountain were both closed, which was really disappointing as we know Drew would have loved both of them. The kids loved all the characters, except for the ones that were people. However, they were ok with Mary Poppins. We got quite a few characters this first day with the Character Lunch at Goofy's kitchen. After lunch we went to Build-A-Bear in Downtown Disney, which is one of our favorite stores despite how crazy busy they always are. We did some more rides in the afternoon and then it was to Rainforest Cafe for dinner. Alexa was asleep before we even got there and slept through it. Drew got a special ice cream treat with a candle and we got back to the room a little after 8pm. We all promptly crashed into bed.
Disneyland Monday. The crowds were a lot less and we got to meet Minnie Mouse! We also got stuck on Roger Rabbit's Crazy Taxi for about 15 minutes when it broke down. We had to keep Alexa sitting down until they came and let us out of the car to walk out. We had great weather all week, no rain and mid-60s every day.
On Tuesday we drove down to Escondido to meet Gen's friend Theresa and her three children at the San Diego Wild Animal Park. It was a lot of fun for everyone, well, most of the time. Drew had a little meltdown on the tram which made it a bit of a challenge and all the other people on the tram were really liking us at that time. We got to feed the Lorikeets again (Gen and Dan visited in 1999), but missed out on the giraffe feeding as the kids were done at that point. It is too bad San Diego is so far from Seattle, as we love that town and Theresa, Mattea, and the twins Noah and Grayson were a blast to hang out with.
We spent the day in California Adventures and the last few hours after it closed in Disneyland. Dan and Gen finally got to hit some adult rides in Twilight Zone of Terror and California Screamin'. Tower of Terror was great, Drew rode it but he didn't think it was fun enough to ride it the second time on the kid pass with Dan. CA Screamin' is a great roller coaster and provides quite a nice rush as you accelerate from a stand still to shooting up a hill at 60mph in a matter of seconds. The kids enjoyed the shows (Muppet Vision 3D, It's Tough to Be a Bug!) and the rides based on A Bug's Life.
Thursday was one of our shorter days in Disneyland. We caught a lot of characters including Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Woody, and Jessie. The kid's autograph books are getting awfully full by now.
Our last day at Disneyland. *whimper* We started with a Princess breakfast, during which it absolutely poured down rain for 20 minutes or so, soaking everyone waiting to get in. We took that as a good sign, it didn't rain at all the rest of the day. While waiting for "Honey I Shrunk the Audience", they announced that the new Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters ride was open unofficially for the very first time for guests to ride it. They were apparently trying to gauge the wait times and get the ride some demo time before it opens in May. That afternoon we went over to California Adventures and Alexa got to see a couple more characters. That night we saw the Electric Light Parade, which is one of the best parts of the trip. This time it was the last thing we did.
